ABOUT ME
I'm Hayden Herrera, the weekend sports anchor for KSNF in Joplin, Missouri. I've had a passion for journalism since I was three years old.
My first job in television was at age 17, as a production assistant at the NBC affiliate KNWA in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It was there that I learned how a newsroom operates, and I was hooked. While at KNWA, I got several chances to shadow reporters, including a trip to Kansas City where I helped shoot a feature story on Arkansas native and MLB All-Star Torii Hunter. During my time at the University of Arkansas, I've learned to write, shoot and edit news stories. I was also named anchor at UATV, the campus news station. On campus, I was part of Razorvision Academy, produced a feature story for Cox Sports Television, and worked on the production crew for ESPN live events.
In September 2013, I started my current job in Joplin. In my short time here I've gotten to cover a wide range of sports. From the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, the Division II Basketball Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to NASCAR at Kansas Speedway. In addition to anchoring, I've also gotten to chance to produce and host a 30-minute coaches show for Missouri Southern basketball for the past two seasons.
I love working in a newsroom, the fast-paced environment is something I thrive on. All my TV experience has given me an appreciation for the work that goes into the business. It's a career that I love, and one that I hope has many opportunities waiting for me.
